Speech and Language Therapy Team

Our highly specialist speech and language therapy team provide life-changing treatment and support for children and adults who have complex rehabilitation needs.

We provide highly specialised assessment and rehabilitation to people of all ages who have developmental and/or acquired speech, language, communication and swallowing difficulties.

We are specialists in the field of cognitive communication disorders and challenging behaviour and we provide treatment to support clients with supported decision-making and mental capacity assessments.

Tracey Dailly

Director / Speech and Language Therapist 

  • Having qualified as a speech and language therapist in 1996, Tracey started writing medical legal reports in 2011. 

    Tracey provides medical legal reports for both children and adults. Tracey’s knowledge and commitment ensures thorough and objective assessments and she provides clear and detailed reports. 

    Currently Tracey provides around 40 reports annually.

    The current case ratio is 40% claimant, 40% defendant, and 20% joint.

    Experience - Adults with acquired brain injury, children with complex needs, adults and children with eating and drinking difficulties.

Rachel Moir

Director / Speech and Language Therapist

  • Rachel is based in Cheshire and covers the North West region. She qualified as a Speech and Language Therapist in 2008. Rachel worked in the NHS and left in 2013 to set up her own independent therapy practice.

    Rachel has worked with children and adults with complex needs, both in the community and in specialist rehabilitation facilities.

    Rachel has a passion for working with people who have communication support needs and loves to embrace technology in all areas of her practice, offering teletherapy when appropriate. She is experienced and qualified in treating dysphagia in both paediatrics and adults and is a certified McNeil Dysphagia Therapy clinician. She brings expertise in the field of cognitive communication disorders (high-level language difficulties) and is passionate about supporting clients to develop their confidence, which allows them to achieve their social participation goals.

Laura Broad

Speech and Language Therapist

  • Laura qualified as a Speech and Language Therapist in 2014 with a BSc (Hons) in Speech and Language Therapy from City University London.

    Since qualifying, Laura has worked as a Speech and Language Therapist for the NHS across various settings managing both pediatric and adult caseloads.

    Laura has been working as an associate Speech and Language Therapist for Neuro Rehab Group since October 2014, supporting adults with communication difficulties in community and rehabilitation settings. Laura plays a key role in the assessment and intervention approach with children and vulnerable adults with mild to profound learning disabilities, strokes or brain injuries.

    Laura completed her post-graduate dysphagia qualification in 2016. She is highly skilled in assessing and providing therapy for individuals with eating and drinking difficulties.

Kit Clewley

Speech and Language Therapist

  • Kit qualified as a Speech and Language Therapist in 1996. She has over 20 years’ experience of working with adults who have communication and swallowing (dysphagia) difficulties

    Kit has a special interest in the areas of group therapy, alternative and augmentative communication, progressive neurology and generalising communication skills from the clinic into everyday settings. Kit is committed to ensuring that the treatment she provides is innovative and underpinned by evidence-based practice. She is trained to provide Lee Silverman Voice Therapy, incorporates Neurologic Music Therapy into her practice and is a certified McNeill Dysphagia Therapy Programme provider. Kit is keen to use technology in her practice, advocating the use of smart tablet applications to support therapy and teletherapy where appropriate.

Jayne Foxley

Speech and Language Therapist

  • Jayne qualified as a Speech and Language Therapist in 1995 at Manchester Metropolitan University. Jayne worked for the NHS initially, specialising in children with learning disabilities and additional needs.

    Jayne started independent work in 2006, supporting adults with learning disabilities, complex needs and behaviours that challenge and has an ongoing interest in working with these children and adults, some of whom have a background of developmental trauma. Jayne also works with children and adults who have an acquired brain injury. In addition to supporting communication, Jayne supports clients with eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties.

Pat Mackay

Speech and Language Therapist

  • Pat qualified as a Speech and Language Therapist in 1988 with a BSc (Hons) in Clinical Communication Studies from City University, London. She worked within the NHS for 27 years, initially in a generalist post with children, adults with learning difficulties and adult neurology. She specialised in Adult Neurology and Augmentative and Alternative Communication, latterly working as part of an interdisciplinary team in a Neuro Rehabilitation setting in Wolverhampton for 23 years.

    In 2018 Pat set up in independent practice and works as an associate for the Neuro Rehab Group.

    Pat’s special interest is in working with adults who have communication support needs following acquired brain injury. She has extensive experience in supporting clients who require Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).

Clare Barr

Speech and Language Therapist

  • Clare qualified as a Speech and Language Therapist in 2014.

    Clare specialises in treating children and adults with complex communication support needs, including working with individuals who present with behaviours that challenge services in the community and rehabilitation centres. She has a special interest in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). 

    Clare is passionate about supporting clients who present with social communication challenges as a result of neurological damage, thus empowering clients to experience the positive quality of life and maintain relationships post-ABI.

Charlie Douthwaite

Speech and Language Therapist

  • Charlie qualified as a Speech and Language Therapist in 2017 with a BSc (Hons) degree from the University of St. Mark and St. John. After qualifying, he began his career working for the NHS, managing adult caseloads in both community and acute settings.

    In 2020, Charlie joined Elysium Healthcare. In his role as the Senior Speech and Language Therapist at Adderley Green Care Centre in Stoke-on-Trent, he primarily provided assessment, treatment and management advice for the communication and swallowing needs of adults with acute brain injuries. He also developed his skills supporting clients presenting in prolonged disorders of consciousness (PDOC), as well as clients with long-term tracheostomies. Furthermore, Charlie was responsible for regularly delivering communication and dysphagia awareness training to other professionals.

    Charlie left Elysium at the beginning of 2023, having completed his core tracheostomy competencies and the Sensory Modality Assessment and Rehabilitation Technique (SMART) accreditation. He continues to provide assessment, treatment and management advice for the communication and swallowing needs of clients, as well as training for family members and care providers. He is driven by his desire to achieve results with clients, guiding them towards positive outcomes, with the empowered support of their caregivers

  • Charlie is based in Burton on Trent, Staffordshire. He typically covers the East Midlands, but is willing to travel further afield if necessary.

Caroline Gale

Speech and Language Therapist

  • Caroline qualified as a Speech and Language Therapist in 1995 with a B Med Sci (Speech) hons from Sheffield University. She initially worked for the NHS before setting up in independent practice in 2019.

    She has over 25 years of experience working with adult clients with acquired communication and swallowing difficulties as a result of Brain Injury, Stroke and Progressive Neurological Conditions.

    Caroline has a special interest in motor speech disorders (dyspraxia) and stammering and is skilled in providing a range of speech and language therapy interventions tailored to her clients’ specific needs. She advocates a client centred and solution focused approach to therapy, working with clients and their communication partners to facilitate a positive communication experience, increase social participation, and improve quality of life. She is also vastly experienced in managing and treating eating/drinking and swallowing difficulties (dysphagia).

Erin Jarvis

Speech and Language Therapist

  • Erin has joined forces with the Neuro Rehab Group to offer expert witness services. She specialises in the field of paediatric brain injury and is qualified to assess and report on speech, language, communication, and dysphagia needs.

Elicia Jones

Speech and Language Therapist

  • Elicia qualified as a Speech and Language Therapist in 2016 with a BSc in Speech and Language Pathology from the University of Strathclyde. Elicia initially worked in the private sector as an assistant in specialist schools before she began her work in the NHS since 2017 before re-commencing work in independent practise in 2022.

    Elicia has a wide range of experience of working with adults who have multifaceted communication and swallowing (dysphagia) difficulties. Elicia thrives on opportunity to continually develop and enhance her clinical skills and knowledge, ensuring that the care and treatment she provides is underpinned by evidence-based practice at all times. She is trained in providing further instrumental assessment of swallowing and also providing specialist swallowing therapeutic treatment such as Expiratory Muscle Strength Training (EMST) and Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (Ampcare’s Effective Swallowing Protocol).

Lisa Clunie

Speech and Language Therapist

  • Lisa qualified from Strathclyde University with a BSc. (Hons) in Speech and Language Pathology in 1998. She worked for the NHS within the particular fields of paediatrics (Hearing impairment) and Adults with Learning Disabilities.

    Lisa’s special areas of interest are supporting individuals with communication needs to reduce communication barriers and she has a vast experience of providing support and intervention for individuals with eating and drinking difficulties.

Isobel Chick

Speech and Language Therapist

  • Isobel qualified as a Speech and Language Therapist in 2017 with an MSc in Speech and Language Therapy from the University of Reading. She is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and is a certified member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.

    She has a special interest in the management of acquired communication disorders such as dysarthria, acquired apraxia of speech, cognitive communication disorder and aphasia, including supporting clients to implement and utilise Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) methods. Isobel is also a specialist dysphagia practitioner
